English Homework and Spellings

This week´s English homework is around poem related to Halloween.  

Homework Help

Synonyms are words that are similar or have a related meaning to another word.  
For example, 
  • Kind:Thoughtful, Considerate, Amiable, Gracious
Alliteration happens when words that start with the same sound are used close together in a phrase or sentence
For example,
  • Paula planted the petunias in the pot.
  • Larry’s lizard likes licking leopards.
Onomatopoeia is word that mimics the sound of the object or action it refers to. 
For example,
  • Buzz
  • Meow
  • Woof 
Spellings
This week´s spellings is revising the spelling rules and words given to children over the past few weeks.  There will be a spellings test on these after the half term break.

You need to play the game, read the information then complete the quiz.  When you have finished, ask an adult to sign your planner to say that the homework is complete and write down your marks out of 10 for the quiz.
