Maths- Great Revision Page!

Hello to Year 5! We hope that you are all having a wonderful holiday. This is just a little post to share with you a great revision website for maths that I think you'll like. It tells you a list of all the different skills you need for this year, and has lots of challenges for you to test your knowledge. Why not spend a bit of time each week going over work that we have done in class? You can also revise work done in Year 4, and further challenge yourself by looking at work for next year!  Enjoy!

To gain an extra 5 house points, you can complete the bonus homework. This time, it is a short reading comprehension to help you practice finding information in the text. Make sure you answer the questions in full sentences.

You have planned your investigation, now it's time to carry it out! Make sure that you draw pictures to show the results of your investigation. Remember, how well you see your own face in the material, shows how reflective the material is. Have fun!

Maths Homework Week 8

This week your homework is working out word problems. Make sure that you highlight or underline the key information. Don't forget to write the answer and use the correct units of measurement! Enjoy!

English Homework Week 8

Welcome to week 8! This week we are focusing on punctuation. Please add in the full stops, question marks and commas into the paragraph. Please stick the paragraph into your books and re-write it, using the correct punctuation. This is due in for Monday after half term. Please also learn your new spellings!

Science Homework Week 7

We have been learning a lot about investigations, and how to make sure that a test is fair. Your homework this week is to plan an investigation about reflective materials. You have the planning sheet, so you'll need to decide what materials you are going to use, and what equipment you will need. You will also need to show how you are going carry out the investigation. How will you make sure that it's a fair test? What factors will you keep the same? What factors will you change? You can get the materials from any part of the house, so be creative!

Please make sure that you don't stick the sheet into your homework books!

This week we have been working on subtraction and division. Your homework is to complete the sheet, and find the answer to the riddle. Make sure you keep revising your maths homework, as we will have a little end of unit test next week.

English Homework week 7

Hello there!

Homework this week is working on speech marks!  Please write 9 senteces from the picture prompts, including speech. Don´t forget, the punctuation goes inside the speech marks! This is due in on Monday. Also, please practise your spellings for Monday.

Science Homework Week 6

As you will be planning your own investigations, you need to know how to do it properly. Please write down in your books (or on paper) a guide for how to plan an investigation. This needs only to be one page, but must include and explain the key points we talked about in class: aim, factors to change, equipment, results.

We have been looking recently at square numbers and square roots. Please complete the exercises either on the sheet or in your homework books. Remember we are checking to see if you know your times tables!
