Maths Homework Week 2 Term 3

We have been doing a lot of work on fractions, decimals and percentages the past couple of weeks. This week for homework, we are focusing on percentages of numbers. Your task is to complete the colouring by numbers activity by working out the calculations, and then finding the colour which corresponds to the answer.
On the back of the sheet (or in your books) we would like to see the working out for 10 calculations- 5 the long non-calculator method, and 5 the shorter calculation method.

E.g. 35% of 200

Long non-calculator method

35% = 35/100 as a fraction

200 ÷ 100 = 2 (1% of 200)
2 x 35 = 70
Answer = 70

Remember: we divide by the denominator and multiply the result by the numerator.

Short calculator method

35% = 0.35 as a decimal

0.35 x 200 = 70

You should get the same result whichever method you use!

If you have a problems or questions, just come and ask myself or Miss Tanya.

Enjoy your day off tomorrow!
